U.S. company Northrop Grumman reached a milestone with the delivery of its 500th Directional Infrared Countermeasures system.

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Members of the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing are assisting coalition forces with the expanding need for ISR data in Southwest Asia by processing, exploiting and disseminating information coming from remotely piloted aircraft.
More than 4,100 Airmen, civilians and contractors make up the 480th ISRW and handle a flow of approximately 700 gigabytes of information daily.
Wing officials expect this number to increase in the near future.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has announced the delivery of the 500th Directional Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) aircraft self-protection system to the U.S. Government.

While the plans for a Samoa development continue their way through the California Coastal Commission review process, the developer remains hopeful that construction will start by next spring.
The commission approved another extension for the developer's land use amendment request on Thursday.
The extension will give the commission up to a year to decide on the amendment.

Three new baseball coaches are getting set to begin the season.
Jon Pedrosky, a teacher in the New Kensington-Arnold School District, was hired last month to replace Justin Zona at Deer Lakes.

For the first time in its history, the Northern Iowa women's basketball team is a step away from the NCAA Tournament.
The fifth-seeded Panthers (16-15) upset top-seeded Illinois State (24-7) in Saturday's semifinal game of the Missouri Valley Conference women's basketball tournament.
